Hello, I am Joshua Van Trump. The Lord called me into full time ministry in the year 2009 when I was 19 years old. Though I was not sure at the time what the Lord had for me I surrendered to His call shortly after. From that point until 2017, I finished my Bible degree and was also able to go to trade school where I learned the HVAC trade. I worked for several years in that trade while also doing pulpit supply in various churches around the state of Maine as well as New Hampshire.

While doing this the Lord led me to my future wife Rachel, and we were married in July of 2018. We served together at Eggemoggin Baptist Church in various capacities, including music and children’s ministry. I was still able to preach there and in other churches in Maine and New Hampshire. In November of 2019, we were given a great blessing from the Lord when our son Micah was born. He is a great joy to us and already enjoys helping where he can.

It was shortly after Micah was born that we moved to Caribou, Maine where I became Pastor of a church in this area for about a year. Through some unfortunate circumstances we had to leave that church and the Lord revealed to us His plan for us now. We believe that the Lord used our time there to teach us and show us the true need in the state of Maine.

There are many churches in Maine which are without a pastor. However, the Lord has revealed to us that the solution is not always simply finding a pastor. Many times the solution is starting a new church with the people who desire to grow, and change, and be a light in their community once again. It was then that we started Open Door Ministries and we look forward to doing the work the Lord has for us in this next chapter of our lives.
