Open Door Ministries is a church planting ministry of Eggemoggin Baptist Church in Sedgwick, Maine. Our mission at Open Door Ministries is to plant Baptist churches in the state of Maine. Our Passion is to assist the remnant of believers in remote areas to plant a church to be a light in their area. In this Laodicean church age, there are many churches which have closed or ceased to be a light in their communities. This has left a small remnant of believers in various communities who desire to have a church where they can grow and be a light. Our desire is to rescue the lost, revive the believers, and encourage the remnant.
Our Lord told us in Luke 19:10 that He was “…come to seek and to save that which was lost.” This was Christ’s purpose for coming to this earth and He has left us here to continue His ministry of reconciliation. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:18, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” It involved the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ Himself to rescue us from our sins and reconcile us to God.
Therefore, we desire to rescue souls from the power of sin through the message of hope written in the Scriptures. That message is, in the words of Christ Himself, “…repent ye, and believe the gospel.” When Christ said this, He was saying repent of your sins and believe on me. The Gospel is the message of Christ. It is repentance for the remission or complete cancellation of sins. We desire to share this message with lost sinners.
We also desire to rescue saints from the power of the flesh through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word. There are many Christians who are stuck in a church where they receive little to no real discipleship and they feel lost. We desire to give them a church where they can learn and grow and be a light in their communities once again.
We desire to revive believers by starting bible studies in remote areas of the state of Maine, planting churches where believers can grow and be a light in their community, and by preaching and teaching truth from God’s Word.
We desire to encourage faithful believers in the state of Maine by promoting fellowship with other like-minded believers and churches and by encouraging faithfulness and service to the local church.
Please pray that the Lord will help us to plant new, vibrant, and growing churches as well as build up and encourage the faithful churches and believers.
Please feel free to contact us if we can help you in any of these areas. We ask that you consider supporting us through prayer, financial giving, or volunteering.
